We write and read every email. For anything at all you can use [email protected]; below is what to tell us in each case so we can sort it out first time.
General email
It is our single point of contact, and we handle messages in Spanish and English. We normally reply within two to three working days. We do not use contact forms, so that we do not have to store your details: writing directly means you know exactly what information you are giving us.
Depending on what you need
Something is wrong in the data
This is the message we appreciate most. Tell us the exact URL of the page, which value is wrong and, if you can, what time you saw it: many values refresh every few hours, and the time helps us reproduce the problem. If you have the correct figure and its official source, better still.
Something is broken
Tell us what you were doing, what you expected to happen and what actually happened. It helps to know your browser and whether you were on mobile or desktop. A screenshot solves half the cases.
Suggestions and new tools
A good part of the tools on this site came from user requests. If a piece of data, an area or a feature is missing, say so: we promise no deadlines, but we read everything and prioritise what comes up repeatedly.
Press and media
You are welcome to quote and link to our data, citing the source and linking to the specific page. If you need a particular figure, a historical series or a technical explanation for a story, write to us with your deadline and we will try to meet it.
API and data use
There is a documented public API for querying data programmatically. If you plan heavy use, tell us beforehand so that request volume does not get you blocked. Bear in mind that the original data belongs to its respective sources and is subject to their licences.
Privacy and legal matters
To exercise your rights of access, rectification or erasure, or for any legal request, use the same address with «Privacy» or «Legal» in the subject line. The details are in our privacy policy, and the identifying details of the site operator are in the legal notice.
Before you write
The answer may already be published. Our FAQ explains where the data comes from, how often it updates and what the warning levels mean; the glossary defines the technical terms that appear in the tools; and about us explains how we calculate what we publish and what its limits are.
One important warning
WhatAWeather is not an emergency service. We do not handle urgent warnings or dangerous situations by email. In an emergency call 112, and always follow the instructions of AEMET and Civil Protection.
