Climate in Albacete
Albacete has a continental Mediterranean climate with strong contrasts between summer and winter. Summer highs regularly top 35 degrees Celsius, while winter lows can drop below minus 5 with frequent frosts.
Annual rainfall is around 360 mm, mainly in spring and autumn. Summer thunderstorms, especially in upland areas like the Sierra de Alcaraz, can drop significant hail.
Easterly (solano) and westerly (poniente) winds are key features over the Manchego plain and drastically alter the heat index. Morning fog is common in winter.
Best time to visit is spring and early autumn. Use the hourly forecast, storm alerts and frost probability before planning the September Feria de Albacete or a route across Los Llanos.
