Climate in Getafe
Getafe, in southern metropolitan Madrid, has a continental-influenced Mediterranean climate almost identical to the capitals. Summer highs surpass 34 degrees Celsius and winter lows can drop to 0 with morning frost.
Annual rainfall is around 430 mm, concentrated in spring and autumn. Summer afternoon storms fed by the sierra can deliver intense rain in minutes.
The metropolitan heat island also reaches Getafe, particularly on July and August tropical nights. The historic Filomena snowstorm of January 2021 left over 30 cm.
