Climate in Lleida
Lleida, in the Ebro depression, has a dry continental Mediterranean climate. Summers are very hot with average highs of 33 degrees Celsius (peaks above 40), and winters are cold with frequent persistent fog and overnight frosts.
Annual rainfall is around 370 mm, one of the lowest figures in Catalonia, mainly in spring and autumn. Daily thermal range is wide year-round.
Fog can last weeks in winter thanks to the depressions temperature inversion, with visibility below 200 metres and humidity above 90%. The cierzo (mestral) dries the air and sweeps fog away.
Best time to visit is spring and autumn. Use the hourly forecast, fog probability and heat alerts before planning the Seu Vella, the Camps Elisis or the nearby Montsec range.
