Climate in Valladolid
Valladolid has a continental-influenced Mediterranean climate, with strong seasonal contrast. Summers are hot and dry with regular 32-degree-Celsius highs, while winters are cold with frequent frosts and persistent fog in the Duero basin.
Annual rainfall is around 435 mm, mainly in spring and autumn. Snowfalls are occasional in winter and can cause local disruption.
The Pucelana fog is one of the typical local phenomena: it can last several consecutive days with humidity above 90% and visibility below 200 metres.
Best time to visit is spring, avoiding winter cold and fog and the extreme July heat. Use the hourly forecast before visiting the Plaza Mayor, the National Sculpture Museum or the Ribera del Duero wineries.
